Traditional thimbles work but they're hot, they're clunky, and they have a habit of falling off at the worst possible moment. SOHMO Adhesive Finger Protectors are the alternative: small heart-shaped pads that stick directly to your fingertip with a strong 3M adhesive backing and stay there for the whole sewing session.
No thimble to hunt for. No sweaty finger. No bulk between your fingertip and the needle. Just a thin layer of protection exactly where you need it.
The heart shape is doing more work than you'd think. It's cute, yes - but it's also functional. The two lobes of the heart allow the pad to flex naturally when applied to the side of a finger, conforming to the curve without bunching. And that downward point at the bottom? Perfect for getting a fingernail underneath when you want to peel it off cleanly after use.
Particularly well-suited to sashiko, where the repetitive push-through action of a thick thread and long needle puts real pressure on the fingertip over a long session. Also excellent for English paper piecing, hand quilting, embroidery, and any hand sewing technique that involves sustained needle-pushing.
Each pad is die-cut and ready to use. Peel from the backing sheet and apply to a clean, dry finger. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Packaged in the same compact sliding-lid tin as the SOHMO Needles range - small enough for a project bag, sewing kit, or the corner of a workroom shelf.
