Needles: 
Machine: Topstitch 100/16 or 90/14 needles with regular weight 40 or 50 cotton in the bobbin. Top tension may need to be loosened and have fun playing with the stitch length for the effect you like - start with a slightly longer length stitch length say 3.5 and adjust to your preference.
